This was the first year of Swami Kaleshwar's Soul University where approximately one hundred students came from around the world to study with him at his ashram in southern India. Throughout the year Swami taught many different energy systems and he went on several world tours to continue to spread the ancient knowledge of India. Swami was 33 years old.

Charitable Work in India
Sri Kaleshwar donated two Crore Rupees ($500,000) towards the construction of the Krishnadeva Raya University, a new engineering college where poor students can receive scholarships for higher education. Swami sponsored a mega health camp which provided free medical care, medicine, and food for the poor. More than two thousand people were treated by national and international doctors. A second health camp was conducted which provided medical treatment for over five hundred poor people. A secondary purpose of this camp was to educate the people about Chikungunnya, a dehibiltating disease spread by mosquitos.
